STEP2

The module STEP was initially developed in 1997 and 1998. Since then it has been improved, enhanced and modernized. New releases of this software are being delivered every year with improved functionality.

This software has very powerful tools for all administrative functions of a container and Ro/Ro terminal. Using table techniques it allows a fast and reliable data entry of container data.

The current release of STEP2 has been developed using modern tools, like Java J2EE and uses SQL compatible database systems, like, at your choice, Microsoft SQL-server, Oracle or Open Source Databases, which ensures a safe and reliable storage of your valuable data. It is also a ‘worry-free’ tool, which does not require a lot of professional IT attention. Using a VPN-connection our staff can assist you with the necessary system management or other support tasks from our own desk. However, with knowledge of SQL your own staff could retrieve all kinds of data from this database and generate powerful management reports using a report generator.

STEP2 is the main module of our software suite for Container and Ro/Ro Terminals and contains the following functionality:

  • Maintenance of a stable and secure standard SQL database for all container and trailer data.
  • Registration of container and trailer moves
  • Registration of Vessel calls, Train calls, Barge calls and Truck calls
  • Import, export, transhipment, overlanded, shifters and restows
  • Registration of Stuffed and Stripped Containers on the Terminal
  • Registration and Reporting of Customs documents and formalities, including interface with on-line customs systems
  • Creation and maintenance of tables with frequently used codes and abbreviations, like for example Vessel Codes, Port Codes, Container/Trailer Type codes, IMDG codes, etcetera.
  • Many standard retrieval and reporting facilities.
  • All data available for SQL-programmers
  • Ability to send reports by e-mail, create PDF, Word or Excel documents from reports.
  • Historical and statistical overviews
  • Interface with EDI-Step (EDI processing Tool) and TIS (Terminal Invoicing)
