General Cargo

The General Cargo (GC) module of STEP is totally integrated with all the other modules and cargo types, like containers, trailers, vehicles (Ro/Ro) and CFS.

General cargo for either import or export will be registered as a ‘lot’ consisting of a number of packages with a weight per package. Support for unitised & non-unitised cargo is available. Unitised cargo can be anything that is individually identifiable, such as steel pipes, paper, vehicles, etc. Note that (second-hand) vehicles are also supported through a specialised vehicle module.

The lot can then be delivered in full or in part to the ter- minal where each individual delivery will be registered & physically checked. All carriers calling the terminal (truck, barge, train, vessel) have full support of mixed cargo & containers operations.
